Nature
gave men two ends - one to sit on,
and one to think with. Ever since then man's success or
failure has been dependent on the one he used most.
~George R Kirkpatrick Chef Miller
entered the culinary field as an apprentice, to then famed Seattle
Chef Papa Jack. Never happy to stagnate he moved regularly in the
search of broadening his knowledge.
At the age of 21 became one of Seattle's youngest Chefs at the
then Famous Green Apple Pie at 6th and Pike. Raising a family helped
settle him down in Olympia Washington for many years, where he became
Executive Chef at the Falls Terrace Restaurant and later the Evergreen
Inn. This position was sought after by many Pacific Northwest chefs
and he spent the next 12 years as Food and Beverage Director and
Executive Chef.
In
1996 Chef Miller attended "The Taste of Honolulu", experiencing
Pacific Rim Foods as well as the newly created Hawaiian Regional
Cuisine. Becoming very interested in this type of cuisine and loving
Hawaii, he put down roots here. He bought a home, took a job as
Executive Chef for the Kaneohe Bay Marine Corp Base Club System
for two years, and later moved on as a head chef at two local hotels.
Chef Miller founded the Tropical Chef
Hawaii in 2001. He has built a tremendous repeat and referral
clientele, including many local personalities, and Mainland celebrities.
